Intuit Inc. (QuickBooks)

Congero partnered with Oracle to design and implement the billing foundation for Intuit’s QuickBooks subscription platform, starting in 2009–2010. The platform initially launched for the US customer base and later expanded globally, supporting Intuit’s growth into one of the largest personal finance and accounting software companies in the world.

Challenge

Intuit needed a robust, scalable billing and revenue management platform to support QuickBooks subscriptions — first for their US market and then for a global customer base as the company expanded its product portfolio to include TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Credit Karma.

Solution or technology

Oracle Billing and Revenue Management (BRM), implemented as the core subscription billing engine for QuickBooks, designed for global scalability across multiple markets and product lines.

Results

The platform launched successfully for the US QuickBooks customer base and expanded to support Intuit’s global operations. The Oracle BRM foundation laid by Congero remains in active use at Intuit to this day — over 15 years later. Intuit’s revenue grew significantly from 2010 to 2020, supported by this platform. (Research note: Intuit revenue ~$2.5B in 2010 vs ~$7.7B in 2020 — approximately 3x growth over the decade.)

Congero’s Role

Congero played a foundational role as the initial design and implementation partner, working alongside the Oracle consulting team. The team was responsible for architecting and deploying the billing platform that would serve as the backbone of Intuit’s global subscription revenue operations.

Impact

Congero’s foundational work enabled Intuit to scale their subscription billing globally, supporting the company’s expansion across QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Credit Karma. The longevity of the platform — still running 15+ years after implementation — is a direct testament to the quality and durability of the architecture delivered.
