A Certifica\u00e7\u00e3o **Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer** (doravante chamada de **GCP**) \u00e9 um exame que avalia seu dom\u00ednio do conjunto de tecnologias da plataforma, desde o BigTable para armazenamento de dados at\u00e9 o Dataflow para processamento de dados. Em termos gerais, o conhecimento em ci\u00eancia de dados para tomar decis\u00f5es informadas \u00e9 essencial para o sucesso, pois a maioria das perguntas tamb\u00e9m busca um diagn\u00f3stico para cen\u00e1rios comuns de business intelligence.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essa certifica\u00e7\u00e3o foi minha primeira tarefa na Congero Technology. No entanto, como rec\u00e9m-formado em ci\u00eancia da computa\u00e7\u00e3o, nada disso fazia sentido para mim no in\u00edcio. O GCP \u00e9 bastante anal\u00edtico e, infelizmente, meus cursos na faculdade s\u00f3 me ensinaram a falar em algoritmos. Mas, se existe algo em que tenho experi\u00eancia, \u00e9 fazer provas. Sei que apenas estudar o material n\u00e3o \u00e9 suficiente \u2014 e nem todos os materiais s\u00e3o igualmente \u00fateis. Por isso, espero que minha jornada ofere\u00e7a uma dire\u00e7\u00e3o mais objetiva para quem busca obter essa certifica\u00e7\u00e3o, destacando quais recursos tiveram mais valor e quais n\u00e3o foram t\u00e3o \u00fateis. Assim come\u00e7ou minha jornada para conquistar o GCP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comecei com um curso da Udemy intitulado **\u201cGoogle Cloud Professional Data Engineer: Get Certified 2022\u201d**. Mas quem n\u00e3o possui assinatura da Udemy n\u00e3o precisa se preocupar \u2014 esta foi, de longe, a parte menos impactante da minha prepara\u00e7\u00e3o. No entanto, o curso inclui um teste pr\u00e1tico cuja complexidade \u00e9 cerca de 80% semelhante \u00e0 do exame real, o que me ajudou a medir a dificuldade e, principalmente, a quantidade de texto nas perguntas. Por outro lado, os v\u00eddeos eram densos, e assistir todos eles seria apenas desperdi\u00e7ar oito horas. Recomendo assistir apenas os que tratam de conceitos que precisam de esclarecimento ou que s\u00e3o de alto rendimento, ou seja, garantidos de aparecer em v\u00e1rias quest\u00f5es da prova, como BigQuery, BigTable, Dataflow, Dataproc, etc.

Falando em materiais de alto rendimento, a documenta\u00e7\u00e3o do Google (ou seja,\u00a0https:\/\/cloud.google.com\/bigquery\/docs\/introduction<\/a>) foi o recurso mais \u00fatil para estabelecer uma base s\u00f3lida para quem \u00e9 totalmente novo no GCP. Ler documenta\u00e7\u00e3o pode soar t\u00e3o agrad\u00e1vel quanto observar a grama crescer, mas o layout seccionado das p\u00e1ginas, com v\u00eddeos e figuras incorporados, facilitou a navega\u00e7\u00e3o e a identifica\u00e7\u00e3o das informa\u00e7\u00f5es essenciais. Isso \u00e9 importante, especialmente quando h\u00e1 pouco tempo dispon\u00edvel, pois saber quais conceitos priorizar nos estudos aumenta significativamente a pontua\u00e7\u00e3o em um curto per\u00edodo \u2014 algo que motiva ao mostrar progresso tang\u00edvel.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para quem n\u00e3o est\u00e1 disposto a encarar um muro de texto ou apenas busca conte\u00fado mais curto, encontrei no canal \u201cGoogle Cloud Tech\u201d no YouTube v\u00e1rios v\u00eddeos valiosos para um refor\u00e7o r\u00e1pido. Os v\u00eddeos v\u00e3o desde o n\u00edvel iniciante (ou seja, What is BigQuery?<\/a>) at\u00e9 o avan\u00e7ado (ou seja, Run Spark and Hadoop faster with Dataproc<\/a>) em familiaridade com o GCP. Al\u00e9m disso, alguns v\u00eddeos apresentam um passo a passo da interface do GCP, fornecendo um bom ponto de refer\u00eancia. Vale observar que recomendo esse recurso apenas como revis\u00e3o e complemento, pois, sozinho, n\u00e3o oferece a profundidade de conhecimento necess\u00e1ria para o GCP.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surpreendentemente, um aspecto da prepara\u00e7\u00e3o que acabei deixando de lado \u2014 mas que eu certamente faria se precisasse refazer o exame \u2014 foi usar o pr\u00f3prio GCP. Tentar entender como cada produto funcionava ao mesmo tempo em que eu tentava elaborar uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o de neg\u00f3cio n\u00e3o foi tarefa f\u00e1cil. Usei as duas horas completas disponibilizadas para a prova, e isso me deixou mentalmente exausto por v\u00e1rias horas depois. Para evitar o desgaste de se auto-sabotar, a familiaridade com o conjunto de tecnologias \u00e9 indispens\u00e1vel. Fa\u00e7a o que eu digo, n\u00e3o o que eu fiz!
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depois de se familiarizar com o GCP, o pr\u00f3ximo passo \u00e9 encontrar um guia de estudos (eu usei\u00a0https:\/\/dzlab.github.io\/certification\/2021\/12\/04\/gcp-data-engineer-prep\/<\/a>). A import\u00e2ncia dos guias de estudo, mesmo que n\u00e3o sejam feitos por voc\u00ea, \u00e9 ajudar a ter consci\u00eancia da amplitude do conte\u00fado cobrado no exame e fornecer um checklist para garantir que nenhum conceito fique sem revis\u00e3o. Al\u00e9m disso, bons guias de estudo cont\u00eam links para documenta\u00e7\u00e3o ou v\u00eddeos relacionados ao t\u00f3pico, permitindo relembrar rapidamente ou at\u00e9 explorar o assunto com mais profundidade. Entretanto, guias de estudo servem apenas para isso \u2014 guiar. Eles n\u00e3o substituem o estudo real nem a pesquisa necess\u00e1ria para alcan\u00e7ar o n\u00edvel de conhecimento exigido na prova.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munido de todo o conhecimento necess\u00e1rio para o exame, resta apenas um \u00faltimo passo: os testes pr\u00e1ticos. Afinal, como medir sua prontid\u00e3o e colocar suas habilidades \u00e0 prova? Para o GCP, recomendo dois ou tr\u00eas simulados. Idealmente, essa etapa final de prepara\u00e7\u00e3o deve ocorrer na semana anterior \u00e0 data do exame, distribuindo as tentativas ao longo desse per\u00edodo. Ao revisar, em vez de marcar apenas as respostas erradas, marque tamb\u00e9m aquelas em que houve d\u00favida ou chute \u2014 mesmo que estejam corretas. Embora a sorte inevitavelmente desempenhe um papel no resultado, \u00e9 melhor ter certeza do maior n\u00famero poss\u00edvel de conceitos, desde que o tempo permita.

Por fim, o exame \u00e9 dif\u00edcil porque \u00e9 longo e suas perguntas s\u00e3o complexas. Mas n\u00e3o \u00e9 imposs\u00edvel. Com boa prepara\u00e7\u00e3o e pr\u00e1tica, obter a certifica\u00e7\u00e3o demonstra a capacidade de utilizar o conjunto de ferramentas do Google para diagnosticar problemas relacionados a dados e fornecer insights de neg\u00f3cios na nuvem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
