Mr. Thomas Cong and the scholarship recipients
As part of the continuing effort to give back to the community and support the cause of education, Congero Technology Group was a major sponsor for the 2021 Kimmy Duong Foundation Scholarship program. Congero’s contribution helped fund five scholarships for awarded recipients.
On August 21, 2021, the Kimmy Duong Foundation hosted a Scholarship Award Ceremony for the recipients of the 2021-2022 KDF Scholarship Program. This year 68 scholarships were awarded to both Vietnamese American and non-Vietnamese American students enrolled in these six institutions: The University of Maryland, George Mason University, NOVA Community College, Montgomery College, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and University of Virginia. The scholarships are renewable annually for up to four years for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
To our Founder & CEO, Mr. Thomas Cong, supporting scholarship programs aligns with his personal story.
“I was a recipient of a scholarship myself,” he said. “To me it’s a part of pay-it-forward in the society that I am continuing to follow.”
In recent years, Congero has participated in many events and projects with charitable causes, specifically funding education. Mr. Thomas Cong feels as if it is our responsibility as a company to pay back to society.
“At Congero, as a commercial entity, by nature we work to create values and compete through hard work and innovation to provide the best products and services,” he said. “We, however, should not overlook corporate social responsibility and will continue to do our part to be a good member of society.”
Through supporting the KDF Scholarship programs and other educational projects, Congero as an organization hopes more people have the opportunities to pursue higher education.
“The hope is to create a springboard and give guidance to help the young generation to achieve their goals, their dreams, their aspirations,” Mr. Thomas Cong said. “The hope is by putting down the seeds one day there will be grand trees, beautiful flowers and plants.”
